I can’t believe it’s 2019! Have you thought about your New Year’s resolutions? I’ve been busy working on mine. I am excited to work on growing my photography business. I’ve sat down and thought about what direction I want to take and what I’d like to focus my attention on.
Success rate of resolutions
I read that that 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail by the second week of February. Can you believe that? At first I thought it was crazy, that’s less than six weeks. But then I reflected on all the resolutions I’ve made in the past. And I must say, I’ve stuck with less than half of them for more than two months. And probably less than 5% for the entire year. That’s so depressing.
So why do I keep making resolutions? I think it’s because I love to start the year with a set of goals. It gives me something to work toward. And it keeps me on track. Plus, I always hope that I’ll be more successful than I was the prior year.
What’s on my list
My main goal is to grow my business. I want to focus on providing a great experience for my clients. In the past I’ve provided digital files. But this year, I’d like to expand my offering to include wall art. The reason for the shift from digital to wall art is because I want my clients have their images displayed in their homes. I don’t want their images sitting on their computer, never to be seen again. Nothing makes me happier than to see photos of the people that I love. So let’s print them big, hang them up, and enjoy them each and every day!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My second goal is to spend more time with my family and friends. I’m guilty of being there, but not really being present in the moment. I need to slow down and enjoy life.
So here’s to an amazing 2019! Let’s make some goals and stick with them. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for all of us!
